Day 1
Londorossi Gate (2,100m) – Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650m)

After breakfast, depart Moshi or Arusha and drive to Londorossi Gate for registration. Continue to the trailhead and begin your trek through the lush rainforest.

The trail winds through dense forest where you may spot colobus monkeys and various bird species before reaching Mti Mkubwa Camp.

Day 2
Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650m) – Shira 2 Camp (3,610m)

After breakfast, leave the rainforest behind and ascend through the heath and moorland zone. Pass through Shira 1 Camp and continue across the beautiful Shira Plateau to Shira 2 Camp.

Enjoy spectacular views of Kibo Peak and Mount Meru.

Day 3
Shira 2 Camp (3,850m) – Lava Tower (4,630m) – Barranco Camp (3,960m)

Today’s trek is crucial for acclimatization. Hike steadily to Lava Tower for lunch before descending to Barranco Camp.

This “climb high, sleep low” strategy helps your body adapt to the altitude while offering incredible views of the mountain.

Day 4
Barranco Camp (3,960m) – Barafu Camp (4,673m)

After breakfast, climb the famous Barranco Wall and continue through the Karanga Valley. Instead of overnighting at Karanga Camp, continue directly to Barafu Camp, the base camp for your summit attempt.

Upon arrival, enjoy an early dinner and rest before the midnight climb.

Day 5
Barafu Camp (4,673m) – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Mweka Camp (3,100m)

Around midnight, begin your summit attempt. Climb steadily to Stella Point before continuing to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.

Celebrate your achievement at the Roof of Africa and enjoy breathtaking sunrise views from the summit.

After descending to Barafu Camp for a short rest, continue down to Mweka Camp for your final night on the mountain.

Day 6
Mweka Camp (3,100m) – Mweka Gate (1,640m) – Moshi/Arusha

After breakfast, descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate. Upon arrival, receive your summit certificate and meet your driver for transfer back to Moshi or Arusha.

This marks the end of your Mount Kilimanjaro adventure.
