Your journey begins the moment you touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK). You’ll be greeted by a friendly safari representative and transferred in a private vehicle to Mtoni River Lodge. Nestled near the Usa River, this peaceful lodge offers Wi-Fi, lush gardens, and a perfect place to relax and prepare for your upcoming adventure.

Start your safari with an exhilarating morning walking safari led by an armed ranger—an intimate way to witness wildlife up close. Afterward, enjoy a game drive through Arusha National Park, with sweeping views of Mount Meru, giraffes grazing in open spaces, and playful colobus monkeys in the canopy. The park also offers glimpses of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days.

Venture to Tarangire National Park, known for its ancient baobab trees and vast elephant herds. Over two days, you’ll track predators, admire flocks of birds, and marvel at the golden savannah stretching into the distance. It’s a park teeming with life yet pleasantly uncrowded.

Drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a gem tucked between escarpment and lake. Keep an eye out for flamingos, tree-climbing lions, and hippos wallowing in the water. After a picnic lunch, you’ll travel to Lake Eyasi, a secluded region rich in tribal culture.

Rise early to join the Hadzabe people—one of Africa’s last hunter-gatherer tribes—for a traditional hunt. Learn their unique clicking language and survival techniques. Later, visit the Datoga tribe, famous for blacksmithing and jewelry-making. It’s a day of deep cultural exchange and storytelling.

Your journey continues into the world-famous Serengeti. As you cross the Ngorongoro Highlands, the plains begin to unfold, welcoming you into the land of the Big Five. Over the next three days, explore the wildlife-dense Central Serengeti, and depending on the season, witness parts of the Great Migration in action.

Optional en route visit to Olduvai Gorge, one of the world’s most important paleoanthropological sites. If traveling from December to March, you may explore the Ndutu region, home to the wildebeest calving season. Later, arrive at the crater rim for a cozy evening.

Descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site teeming with lions, elephants, flamingos, and black rhinos. After a spectacular game drive and picnic lunch, return to Karatu for overnight rest.
