4-Day Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Safari – Best of Northern Tanzania

Upon your arrival at Arusha Airport, you’ll be greeted by your professional safari driver-guide. After a short briefing, we’ll begin the scenic drive to Tarangire National Park with packed lunch boxes. Known for its sweeping savannahs and towering baobab trees, Tarangire is home to one of Tanzania’s largest elephant populations.

We’ll begin the day with a guided walking safari, allowing you to step out of the vehicle and experience nature up close. Accompanied by an armed ranger, you’ll learn about animal tracks, bird calls, plants, and behavior while walking among giraffes, antelopes, and maybe even elephants at a safe distance. After the walk, enjoy a game drive through the park, with a chance to see lions lounging under acacia trees, buffalo herds crossing the dry riverbeds, and colorful birdlife fluttering above.

After a full afternoon of wildlife sightings, we’ll transfer you to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight rest.

After breakfast, we’ll depart with lunch boxes for the famous Serengeti National Park. This drive takes you through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands before descending into the vast Serengeti plains—an awe-inspiring landscape dotted with wildlife.

We’ll enjoy a half-day game drive in the central Serengeti region (Seronera), known for its high concentration of big cats such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. During the dry season, the Seronera River attracts herds of wildebeest, zebras, and elephants, making for excellent predator-prey interaction viewing. Later in the day, we’ll arrive at your tented camp for dinner and overnight under the star-filled African sky.

Today, rise early to catch the Serengeti at its most active during a morning game drive. With your lunch boxes packed, we’ll continue our exploration of the park, focusing on areas where the Great Migration may be taking place, depending on the season.

Expect to encounter large herds of wildebeests and zebras, as well as predators like lions and hyenas trailing behind. In the afternoon, we’ll exit the Serengeti and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll check in to a lodge perched near the crater rim, ready for tomorrow’s spectacular descent.

After an early breakfast, we’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, including the endangered black rhino. As you drive across the crater floor, you’ll encounter elephants, hippos, lions, zebras, wildebeests, and an array of birdlife such as flamingos and crowned cranes.

We’ll enjoy lunch at a scenic spot within the crater before ascending back to the rim and making our way to Arusha Airport for your onward flight or international departure, marking the end of a truly memorable safari.
