Day 1
Arrival in Moshi

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel in Moshi town. In the evening, your guide will provide a full climb briefing and equipment check. Any missing gear can be rented locally.

Day 2
Umbwe Gate to Cave Bivouac Camp

After breakfast, drive to Umbwe Gate (1,800m) for registration and to meet your full trekking crew. Today’s trek begins with a steep, forested climb through the cloud forest zone, with moss-covered trees and rich plant life. The path narrows as it climbs rapidly to Cave Bivouac Camp (2,850m).

Day 3
Cave Bivouac Camp to Barranco Camp

The trail continues sharply upward along a ridge through heath and moorland. After emerging from the forest, you reach open terrain and gain incredible views. Arrive at Barranco Camp (3,950m), one of Kilimanjaro’s most scenic spots, nestled beneath the imposing Barranco Wall and surrounded by giant senecio and lobelia plants.

Day 4
Acclimatization Day at Barranco Camp

A full rest and acclimatization day at Barranco Camp to allow your body to adjust to the altitude. Optional short hikes are available for active acclimatization, improving your summit chances.

Day 5
Barranco Camp to Karanga Valley

Today begins with a thrilling climb up the Barranco Wall, which may require occasional use of your hands to navigate. After reaching the top, continue across alpine ridges and descend into the beautiful Karanga Valley. This is a relatively short but important day for acclimatization.

Day 6
Karanga Valley to Barafu Camp

The route continues steadily uphill through an increasingly barren alpine desert landscape. On the way, pass glaciers and stunning views of the upper slopes of Kilimanjaro. Arrive at Barafu Camp (4,600m) by early afternoon, rest, and prepare for the summit push tonight.

Day 7
Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp

Around midnight, begin your summit attempt with headlamps lighting your path. Ascend steeply to Stella Point (5,756m), then continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) — the highest point in Africa. Celebrate briefly before descending to Barafu, where you’ll rest and refuel, and then continue to Mweka Camp (3,100m).

Hiking Time: 6 hrs to Stella, 1 hr to Uhuru, 3–4 hrs back to Barafu, 4 hrs to Mweka

Day 8
Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate – Transfer to Moshi

After breakfast, make your final descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate (1,500m). The trail may be slippery, especially if it has rained. Upon arrival, collect your summit certificate and meet your driver for a transfer back to Moshi for a well-deserved rest and hot shower.

Day 9
Departure Day

Relax in Moshi or explore the local town depending on your flight time. Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your international departure. Optional extensions to Zanzibar, safari, or cultural tours are available upon request.
