Safari Overview
This classic road safari covers Northern Tanzania’s top wildlife destinations, offering diverse landscapes, excellent game viewing, and comfortable safari lodges. Traveling by private 4×4 Land Cruiser, you will experience Tarangire’s elephants, Serengeti’s endless plains, Ngorongoro’s unique crater ecosystem, and Lake Manyara’s rich birdlife and tree-climbing lions.
Day 1: Arrival – Kilimanjaro Airport / Arusha Airport – Arusha
Driving time: 45–60 minutes
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your private safari guide.
You will be transferred to your hotel in Arusha for relaxation after your journey. Later in the evening, enjoy a detailed safari briefing, covering:
- Safari route and daily activities
- Wildlife expectations
- Safety procedures
- Vehicle and park regulations

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Driving time: ~2–3 hours
After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most underrated wildlife gems.
Tarangire is famous for:
- Large elephant herds
- Ancient baobab trees
- The Tarangire River, a key water source attracting wildlife year-round
Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch inside the park. Wildlife commonly seen includes elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, and a wide variety of bird species.
In the late afternoon, exit the park and drive to your lodge.

Day 3: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park
Driving time: ~5–6 hours (with scenic stops)
After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with stunning views of highlands and plains.
Arrive in Central Serengeti, the heart of the park, and begin game viewing en route to your lodge.
Central Serengeti is known for:

Day 4: Full Day Game Drives – Serengeti National Park
Spend a full day exploring Central Serengeti with flexible game drives tailored to your interests.

Expect to encounter large herds of wildebeest and zebras, lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, hyenas, and numerous bird species.

Day 5: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater
Driving time: ~4–5 hours
After breakfast, drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best wildlife areas in Africa. The crater floor is home to:
- Lions
- Elephants
- Buffaloes
- Hippos
- Wildebeest and zebras
- The rare black rhino
Enjoy a game drive with a picnic lunch near the hippo pool.
In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and drive to your lodge in Karatu.

Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha – Departure
Driving time: ~2–3 hours
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.

- Flamingos and rich birdlife
Enjoy a game drive and lunch before returning to Arusha or transferring to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey.
